Payments & security
How are credit card payments processed?
We understand your concerns in submitting your credit card details to us, which is why we are more than willing to explain how payments are processed, how your details are accessed and stored, and how secure our systems are.
We outsourced an Information Security professional to build a secure online system for us. He has assured us that:
-
All information is transmitted through a secure channel.
-
All information is encrypted using strong encryption algorithms.
-
Your card details are never stored online for more than 48 hours. So you never have to worry about your details being permanently stored online.
-
The manager who has access to this information is verified using 2-factor authentication. The system requires a password and a pin which changes every day.
-
The system logs all users activities, who view the information, in case we ever need to trace activity back to an individual.
What happens when you submit the form:
-
You submit the form.
-
Our bookings manager receives an email with instructions to login and view your details. Your details are never sent via email. The emails simply reads, "New details have been submitted. Please login to view".
-
The manager logs into our secure online system with a password and a pin which changes every single day.
-
The manager views your details and types them into our offline database so that you can be charged later. This offline database is only accessisble by the manager and director of Sugar Bay.
-
The manager immediately deletes your details from the online system.
-
We charge your credit card at the appropriate time. We will always send you a receipt when payment is made.
-
Your details remain stored only on our offline database in case you want to book again in future.
We hope this answers your questions and reassures you of the safety of your card details. Please give us a call on (032) 485 3778 if you have any further questions, or to report any suspicious activity.
Important precautions:
For security reasons, please remember to look in your browser's address bar for:

The correct URL and not a fake imitation. The correct URL is: https://secure.mysugarbay.co.za/creditcardpayment.aspx
-
The "secure" icon alongside the URL.
